Who I am

I am a Chicago based Salvadoran visual artist that creates artworks about mental health, trauma and memory.

I’ve committed to art as both a career and a platform for social change. My practice has become a space where I confront personal and collective traumas. Drawing from my experiences as a first-generation immigrant and as someone living with post-traumatic stress disorder, my work is my diary—a visual excavation of memory and pain. Through oil paintings, I transcribe the voices in my head, which alternate between Spanish and English, echoing my bicultural identity. These voices are vivid reminders of a childhood spent internalizing guilt and shame within a conservative Christian household.
